EPIC Pharmacy Network, Inc. (EPN) is pleased to introduce our new Vice President of Network Development, Cynthia Pigg, R.Ph, MHA.
Starting her career in the pharmacy of a local grocery store in Charleston, South Carolina, Cynthia has made leaps and bounds that have led her to EPN.
She returned to Virginia, worked in hospital practice, and obtained her Master’s degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, as she has always had a “passion for learning the business side of healthcare.”

While studying full-time, Cynthia worked as a pharmacy director, in which she led various aspects of pharmacy and began her journey to “fill in the various wedges of the managed care pharmacy pursuit pie.” She has served as the Chief Pharmacy Officer and as Senior Vice President of Trade and Networks for large health plans and pharmacy benefit managers, led a wholesaler-owned PSAO, served as the Senior Vice President of a large employee benefits firm’s pharmacy consulting practice, and was the former CEO of a pharmacy professional society foundation.
Cynthia understands the life of a pharmacist, as she not only has worked in the profession but is also happily married to a pharmacist. She enjoys the holidays and spending time with her family. The winter season ahead reminds her of her time as the Snow Queen at the Miller & Roads department store, where she worked during pharmacy school. Cynthia is especially excited for this holiday season as her first grandchild is due on December 25th.
When asked what she is most excited about working at EPN, Cynthia said, “The people! EPN has exceptional, experienced talent and extremely notable passion for serving and delivering results that truly help”.
EPN believes that Cynthia will be an excellent fit for our organization. She has a passion for taking action that enables pharmacists to work at their highest capacity.
Cynthia stated, “We are an underutilized healthcare profession, and to once again have the opportunity to work with independent pharmacists who are pillars of their communities, providing essential pharmaceutical care to advance the health of the many individuals who rely on drug therapy to live, it was an opportunity I couldn’t resist!”
Our Vice President is ready and excited to advance the work EPN has accomplished, while executing strategy to provide and support solutions so that ‘independent pharmacists not only survive, but thrive as healthcare evolves’.
Our EPN team plans to focus on enhancing reimbursement for pharmacist services, invest in our talent, and develop deliverable solutions that solve the needs of our members and the patients they serve.
