EPIC Pharmacy Network, Inc. (EPN) is pleased to introduce our Director of Clinical Operations, Robert McGee, Pharm.D., MBA, BCPS.
Robert has always had a passion for science and helping others. With his exploration of various health sciences, he found pharmacy, stating, “I was inspired by how pharmacists are accessible to patients and often play a key role in their care journey.”
At a friend’s independent, long-term care pharmacy, Bob started working as a clerk. He has worked every possible role at this pharmacy over the years, including the delivery driver!

He’s worked as a pharmacy intern for both retail and LTC pharmacies. Exposed to immunization clinics, MTM, and patient outreach, Bob has seen much in his career as a pharmacist. After graduation, he completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency, during which he expanded his leadership, communication, and time management skills. When reflecting on his residency year, Bob says, “It was a formative and pivotal time in my life and career. It allowed me to break out of my comfort zone and take on many challenges that may not have been available to me otherwise. After residency, I remained as a clinical pharmacist and also went back to work for the same independent pharmacy I had worked for during undergrad.”
He then completed his Master’s in Business Administration and became board-certified in pharmacotherapy. Bob moved into a clinical role at a large health system, serving as the clinical pharmacist at a psychiatric and substance use disorder facility. At this health system, Bob later led the clinical pharmacy team and pharmacy residency program.
In terms of which experience has been the most impactful, he explained, “All have allowed me to build on my clinical skills and improve patient outcomes, but later experiences have taught me how to implement clinical initiatives to scale, become a leader, achieve system-wide goals, and execute successful programs.”
Bob resonates with the mission of EPN. He is excited to be a part of an organization that “truly empowers pharmacy owners to grow their clinical and business capabilities,” and helps independent pharmacies succeed.
He is ready to make an impact on a larger scale. With his focus on expanding and refining EPN’s clinical programs, Bob hopes to create more value for our members. He plans to improve how we measure outcomes, support those in performance-based contracts, and help members create sustainable clinical services. “My vision is to make these programs not only effective, but streamlined and rewarding for the pharmacies we support.”
The Clinical Programs department of EPN supports our independent pharmacy members by providing guidance, tools, and data that allow pharmacists to improve outcomes and identify new revenue opportunities. EPN is here to help independent pharmacies deliver high-quality care and strengthen their business.
When asked what advice he would give to a pharmacist hoping to improve their performance or patient care, Bob said there is one key word: CONSISTENCY. “The small things done well, and often, make the biggest difference over time.”
